Today I wanted to pop in and share what beauty item I always have on rotation in my stash—lipstick! One swipe can really make you go from classic, to playful, to bold and if you were to ask me to name one beauty item that I can never get enough of, it’s lipstick and/or lip products. Recently I shared on my Instagram page some of the colors I selected to suit every mood for summer. I picked out an eclectic mix from different brands ranging from corals, to bright pinks, to muted neutrals. Read below for more details.
This is a beautiful “bright pinkish coral matte” that I’ve worn on several occasions. It is opaque and provides excellent color payoff. The texture is a bit dry and can tug a bit on your lips when applied, however, with proper exfoliation, and a hydrating base, it provides comfortable wear for up to 5 hours. It’s really such a beautiful, bright color that is suitable for most skin tones.
Marc Jacobs Love Marc Lip Gel-Neo Noir
This is one of my favorite colors from their initial lipstick release. It’s the perfect red for summer in the evening. The velvety texture glides on very easily on my lips. It’s not only beautifully pigmented, but it is also opaque and long lasting. Another added benefit is that it contains an infusion of monoi butter to keep my lips hydrated through out the day.
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet-La Diva
I love the color pink. A huge portion of my lipstick stash is dedicated to this particular color. Pink always seems to brighten up my mood, so naturally I had to include this color in my summer series. La Diva is a bright matte pink. Though it is matte, it is not drying as other formulas and provides comfortable, pigmented wear on my lips. I am a fan of their Rouge Allure velvet line since I prefer more opaque, matte colors.
This is a beautiful medium pink that I would describe as a demi-matte finish. Although it is matte, I feel there is a little sheen to it. The texture is very creamy and glides on easily. There is no tugging on the lips and the color is not only pigmented, but wears comfortably for several hours. It has a very subtle vanilla scent and if you’re looking for an opaque medium pink tone for summer, this is it.
This color is described as a “mauve nude.” It’s a muted pink with a satiny finish. This is one of my favorite lipstick formulas. It glides on so easily, is richly pigmented and provides opaque coverage. I picked up this color at the Nars boutique in Los Angeles when I visited earlier this year.
Thank you for reading. I hope to share with you soon a series of lip colors I am prepared to rock for the fall as well as a series of my favorite colors from each brand and line, as time permits. ‘Til next time. 🙂
