The Birchbox Pop-Up Shop arrived in Los Angeles at The Grove this past weekend. I have heard quite a bit about beauty subscription services, however I have yet to fully subscribe to the offerings available. The Pop Up shop offered by Birchbox was the perfect opportunity to try it out.
At this event, you could build your own box (B.Y.O.B) for $15 by picking out 5 sample-sized beauty and grooming products from a range of brands.I decided to build a box for myself and one for my boyfriend. I was able to pick out one deluxe sample from each category such as Makeup, Hair, Skincare, Fragrance, Beard+Shave, and Lifestyle. Birchbox was also offering a promotion to purchase 2 more months for $15 so I took advantage of this offer.
Above is what I selected for my box. I chose the Hello fragrance by Harvey Prince for my fragrance sample, the Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray for haircare, the Coola Sport Classic sunscreen for sun care, Stila’s Stay All Day liquid lipstick in the color Venezia for makeup, and Caudalie’s Cleansing water for the skincare category.
For my boyfriend’s box, I selected items from the categories of hair care, beard+shave, fragrance+body and lifestyle from brands such as Ursa Major, Baxter of California’s, and Das Boom. I also picked up a water container for his lifestyle item. (Not pictured)
In addition to the B.Y.O.B., Birchbox brought along online bestsellers in the form of a pop up Birchbox Woman’s shop as well as a Birchbox Man’s shop. As soon as I saw the Stila Stay All Day liquid lipstick trio in the women’s shop, I could not resist! I am a huge fan of the color Beso, and not only did the trio contain this color, it also had a selection of two more colors in Venezia and in the color Bella. I picked one up for myself and one for a friend.
The colors are absolutely beautiful! They are the perfect size since I can’t ever seem to finish all my liquid lipsticks. They are also ideal for travel and a great companion to my makeup bag.
A great day was had at Birchbox’s Los Angeles Pop Up Shop. I’m so looking forward to receiving my other boxes and perhaps this is yet the first of many to come.
