Hello! Today I wanted to share with you a beauty secret featuring some of my favorite products from E.L.F. Cosmetics. The brand is currently hosting a Beauty Secrets challenge via their Instagram account and I am up for the challenge! E.L.F. cosmetics (short for Eyes, Lips, Face) is one of my favorite drugstore brands. Not only does the line produce high quality products at a fraction of the price, their products are also highly accessible and affordable, whether you are a student on a beauty budget or the average consumer. Years ago, while I was in makeup school and worked on completing my artistry certification, I needed a range of items for my makeup kit. E.L.F. cosmetics came to the rescue. I continue to use their products in my kit today. Whenever I visit the beauty aisle at my local Target I always stop by to take a peek at their latest offerings.
My beauty secret is mixing and layering different colors to achieve the perfect, customized color. I do this often with my makeup products, whether it’s a lipgloss and lipstick combo or with my blush and bronzer. One of my favorite products from the E.L.F line is their Moisturizing Lipsticks. It is one of the creamiest formulas I’ve tried and glides on like the texture of lip balm, yet it delivers beautiful color pigmentation. Another added benefit is that the lipsticks also contain Shea and Vitamins A, C, and E for nourishment and hydration. It wears comfortably on my lips and I can reapply as often as I desire.
Above are swatches of some of my favorite colors from their line. The colors are vibrant, opaque and have a little bit of a sheen to them. I love to mix a little bit of Rosy-Go-Round with Ravishing Rose. It’s a beautiful color combination!
Another one of my favorite products from E.L.F Cosmetics is their Studio Collection Blush Palette. It comes in two variations: Light Blush and Dark Blush. Although I have both palettes in my makeup stash, I find the light palette more suitable for my skin tone, which is medium with yellow undertones. The blush palette is a beautiful compilation of four shades that are perfect for mixing and matching. It is extremely versatile to work with. I can use it for contouring, shading, sculpting or to add a pop of color wherever desired. It has a silky smooth texture that is pigmented, yet entirely blendable. My favorite combination is blending and layering the peachy toned blush (far right) with the pink toned blush (upper left) Another added benefit is that you can pop out each square to create a customized palette and mix the Light Blush palette with the Dark blush palette with ease.
