Fall is almost upon us. I am truly anticipating its arrival because it means cooler weather and a departure from the hot humid weather we’ve been experiencing here in Southern California. Fall also means pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks, cinnamon bread and of course, wearing my favorite fall shades on the makeup front.
Today I will be sharing part two of my lipstick series with you. Part one of my lipstick series was on the colors that I enjoyed wearing for summer. You can find it here. My favorite shades to rock for fall are deep berries and plums. I love the berry shade variety because they are not only richly beautiful, but are also complementary on my medium golden skin tone. For my Fall lipstick picks, it was really hard to narrow it down since I have so many lipsticks in this color family. I decided to pick a mix of some of the lipsticks that I have recently acquired along with some of my tried and true favorites. Read below for my picks.
E.L.F. Cosmetics Moisturizing Lipstick in Wine Tour– This is one of my favorite colors from their studio line. It’s a deep berry shade that is very creamy and moisturizing. It’s also enriched with Shea and vitamins A, C & E and for $3 the price can’t be beat. I wrote more about my favorite E.L.F. products here if you’re interested in reading .
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Vera- this is one of my favorite lipstick formulas. The color is described as a “bright raspberry”. It’s richly pigmented, provides opaque coverage, and glides on beautifully. This retails for $32.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick VIB Rouge Edition in Black Red– Oh me, oh my! One swipe and it was love at first sight! I recently ordered this from Sephora’s website. It’s an online exclusive for VIB Rouge cardholders which was released in addition to four other lipsticks from their Kiss and Love Collection. They are embossed with little love bites, in the form of lips. The packaging is so luxurious and the formula is deeply pigmented and nourishing. I am so excited to put this beautiful color to use.
Bite Beauty Frozen Berries Matte Creme Lipstick Juniper– This color is from their Frozen Berries Collection which was released earlier this summer. The color was inspired by the depth and luster of flash-frozen wild berries. It is a matte creme lipstick that is described as a “deep fuchsia.” I have been a fan of their lipsticks for quite some time, not only because of the color payoff, but because of the infusion of beneficial ingredients such as cranberry seed oil and Omega 3, 6, and 9. Who can say no to that?
Tom Ford Violet Fatale-I would describe this color as a light berry raspberry. The color looks darker upon first glance, but after swatching, it is lighter than it appears from the tube. Surprisingly, this is the sheerest color of the other 4. I have been a fan of Tom Ford lipsticks as you can probably tell from my earlier posts, and this one is yet another great addition. There are days where I will be in the mood to wear something less opaque and more sheer. On those days, this lipstick fits the bill.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my picks. What are your picks for fall?
