One shade that I love for Fall is the color berry. And when I want a long lasting, matte lip that will provide opaque coverage, I tend to reach for my liquid lipstains/lipsticks. It seems that liquid lipsticks have now stormed the mainstream as more and more brands are releasing some variation of liquid lipsticks.I have amassed quite a collection of liquid lip stains in a variety of colors for nearly every occasion imaginable. They are easy to apply and quickly dry to a matte finish.Today I will be sharing with you the liquid lipstick shades that I have in the variation of the color berry, which is an on- trend color for Fall though I plan to share with you a series of other brands and colors when time permits.
Dose of Colors Berry Me– Medium Berry, $18
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Aria- Magenta Plum, $24
Anastasia Beverly Hills Craft-Plum, $20
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid lipstick Bauhau5-Deep Raspberry, $20
Sephora Cream Lipstain Blackberry Sorbet- Deep Blackberry -$14
These liquid lipsticks come with a doe felt applicator and are incredibly easy to apply. All of them applied wet and dried to a matte finish within a matter of minutes. The lasting power for each one varies though they all typically last about 6-7 hours on my lips with little to no transferring. Out of the five, KVD’s Bauhau5 seems to be the lightest berry shade and the thinnest formula, which allows you to build to the desired intensity. The thickest formula in my opinion is Dose of Colors Berry Me. It doesn’t budge on my lips and when washing off the swatches, it required extra rubbing with my heavily saturated cotton pad. As you can see from above, Berry Me and Aria are dupes, while Anastasia Beverly Hills Craft has a bit of sheen to it. Blackberry Sorbet is the deepest berry shade and applies darker than the color appears from the tube. What I can conclude about all 5 colors is that they are opaque, matte, apply smoothly and have lasting power. One downside to them is they can feel a bit drying so make sure to exfoliate or properly prime your lips before applying.
I will be working on swatches and a more detailed review of my collection of Kat Von D liquid lipsticks and my Dose of Colors liquid lipsticks (preview below) as well as my collection of Sephora cream lip stains in upcoming posts.
