This years YSL beauty’s new Holiday 2015 Kiss & Love Collection features items in their iconic gold packaging embossed with kissing love bites. This adorable collection offers 4 lipsticks in a range of colors from their permanent line and a limited edition traveler’s palette for the eyes, lips and cheeks. How adorable are the love bites stamped on each lipstick bullet and cap? The formula is richly pigmented, hydrating, and deeply nourishing as it contains an “active care formula”—enriched with antioxidants to give lips comforting moisture and full coverage in one swipe. I have found the lipstick formula to be satisfactory in terms of color saturation and overall performance. It glides on smoothly and provides lasting power and comfortable wear for hours. Although there exists a slight floral scent, it is not too overpowering.
I also recently ordered the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick VIB Rouge Edition in Black Red from Sephora’s website. It’s an online exclusive for VIB Rouge cardholders which was released in addition to the other four lipsticks from their Kiss and Love Collection. This shade is perfectly fall appropriate so I could not pass it up. See swatches below.
I also purchased the limited edition Touche Eclat highlighter and the Kiss and Love Edition Complete Makeup Palette. The original Touche Eclat is a cult favorite in the beauty industry and is the number one selling sku for the brand. It not only works as a concealer, but it can also be used to highlight key areas of the face, erase fatigue, lighten dark spots, and I’ve even used it around the outer edges of my lips to clean up messy lines and give it more definition. It is a true multi-tasking product. Though I already have a couple of concealers in my stash, I will admit that I am guilty of purchasing this item solely for its adorable packaging.
Finally, I purchased the Kiss & Love Edition Complete Make-Up Palette which is a multi-purpose palette that contains eyeshadow, lipstick, and blush all- in- one. It features a collection of mostly shimmering holiday colors, including silver, champagne and gold tones. The shades are quite complementary and the palette is sleek enough to fit nicely in your clutch for an evening out.

– 4 x 0.03 oz Powder Eye Shadow in Brown, Gold, Silver, Champagne
– 2 x 0.05 oz Solid Lip colors in Pure Red, Light Pink
– 0.13 oz Powder Blush in Doux Corail

This palette features a beautiful assortment of holiday colors. The shadows, in my opinion, are too shimmery for the day, but are perfectly suitable for a night on the town. They are quite pigmented and I was able to pick up a good amount of color with one swipe of my finger. Of the two colors offered in the lip category, the light pink is my favorite. It’s a beautiful baby pink. The formula is on par with the Rouge Volupte lipsticks as it provides a high-shine glossy finish. The blush is officially described as a delicate fresh coral. When swatched, I realized the color is a little too light on my medium golden skin. I will most likely use it as a highlighter, rather than a blush.
Of the items purchased, my favorite and most used items from the collection thus far are the lipsticks. This collection would suit the most dedicated YSL lover, and would make a great gift for any beauty maven.
