Today I wanted to share some new additions to my skincare routine. I have some items that are considered my everyday staples, however, in my quest to find the most effective items for my skin type, I will often incorporate new products to my usual skincare routine. I look for products that will help to not only prevent premature aging, but to keep my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. There are several lifestyle and environmental factors that can wreak havoc on your skin, such as stress and free radicals, so establishing a good skincare routine is very important. Now that fall is upon us, my skin tends to feel somewhat dry, so I look for products that will feel hydrating and provide my skin the TLC that it needs. For reference, my skin type is rather normal year round. Occasionally, I will experience the displeasure of a breakout or two. Fortunately, my skin is rather blemish free and I can attribute this to the years that I've spent caring for my skin.
My Newest Additions:
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist- I purchased this item last month. I have heard so many great things about it and wanted to give it a try. It is described as a silky spray on moisturizer that contains squalane, red algae, and an exclusive Hadasei-3 complex that can be misted for a boost of dewy hydration as its namesake implies. This fine mist comes in beautiful luxe purple packaging and does not contain any alcohol which can be drying for skin. It gives the most beautiful, hydrating, lit from within glow that does not feel the least bit sticky or greasy. It can be used before or after foundation; with minimal makeup or a full face, or on bare skin alone. I have tried it all three ways and my preference is to to use it for a dose of hydration during the day when I need it most. My makeup still stays firmly in place and it provides such a lovely glow. It contains a slight floral scent that is not over powering whatsoever. To me it feels rather refreshing.
Context Micro-Derm Regenerator*- I have been using this cleanser for the past three weeks and my verdict is in--it works wonderfully for my skin. Context Skincare is a skincare brand that is developed for both women and men. Their products come in very simple, yet aesthetically pleasing black and white packaging. The Micro-Derm regenerator is a two-in-one, fragrance -free cleanser that gently exfoliates. It is enhanced with very fine crystals that are used in professional microdermabrasion treatments. These crystals are very gentle on my skin. I have used the cleanser day and night and it gently polishes my skin without leaving it feeling dry. It also contains a host of beneficial ingredients such as macadamia oil, jojoba oil, and vitamins A,C, and E which helps to soothe, nourish, and promote youthful skin. I am very impressed with this product.
Eve Lom Brightening Cream*- This is the latest addition to my skincare routine and also the first Eve Lom product that I have ever tried. According the the product description, it helps to correct pigmentation and boost radiant, even-toned skin. It contains an innovative ingredient called Dermapep, with antioxidant actives that can help to unify and brighten the complexion. It's also enriched with Rose Otto Oil to increase hydration. One recent occurrence since my last skincare routine post, is the appearance of slight dark spots that surfaced on my skin this past summer. These slight dark spots have been really bothering me, and I have been on a quest to get rid of them. I have used an active ingredient called hydroquinone in the past to help correct dark spots. However, since this professional grade ingredient increases my skin's sensitivity, I have since stopped. So far, I have used the Eve Lom Brightening cream for about two weeks now. The cream feels very lightweight, hydrating and has a very slight scent which I would describe as aromatherapeutic. In terms of my first impressions of the product, I feel that it has delivered in terms of providing my skin the moisture and hydration it needs. However, I would like to report back on my final results after I have had the time to use it for an entire month. This brightening cream seems very promising thus far, and I am hoping that it will yield positive results.
