The boys are back! And this time they are permanent. The Tom Ford Lips & Boys collection launched on Black Friday. Twenty-five best selling favorites return from last years launch, alongside the arrival of 25 new boys, debuting in a lustrous metallic finish.
I eagerly anticipated the launch of these new boys when I first heard the exciting news that they would make a return this holiday. Today I would like to share the 9 new colors I selected this year. Let’s get started ,shall we?
The line is named after men that have inspired Tom Ford throughout his life, both past and present. Addison was Ford’s first crush; while Richard is Ford’s husband. The names are printed in the bottom base of each tube. In addition, each lipstick is embossed with the signature TF insignia. They retail for $35 each.
These Lips & Boys are in a clutch-friendly size and are adorable to hold in your hands. They are a beautiful sight to behold. They also come in the black and gold packaging similar to their full-sized counterparts. They are indeed fun-sized lippies that boast Tom Ford’s dreamy formula which include ingredients such as Brazilian murumuru butter, soja seed extract and chamomilla flower oil. As a result, the texture is smooth, pigmented, and hydrating. They come in a range of gorgeous colors and varying finishes, from pinks and reds to metallics and sheer finishes. The level of opacity, therefore, varies across the entire collection.
In total I picked out 9 shades, 7 of which are from the newly released shades, while two shades were from last year’s launch. The newly released shades feature mostly metallic finishes and are grouped into color families. My picks this year:
Ian-Neutrals (from last year’s launch)
Justin-Pinks (from last year’s launch)
Tony- Metallic Red
Jake- Metallic Coral
Eric-Metallic Coral
Drake-Metallic Violet
Alex- Metallic Pink
Kingston-Metallic Pink
Theo-Metallic Violet

Here’s a little video I posted on my Snapchat of these gorgeous boys.

The star of this year’s release is Drake, a beautiful metallic violet.
My Overall Thoughts
Though I am more partial to shades of the matte variety, I am pleased with the selection of mostly metallic shades that I picked out for this year’s release. The level in which they appear metallic vary greatly. Some shades such as Drake and Kingston had very fine shimmer, while it is more apparent with the finish of Ian These boys are a great addition to my makeup stash and would make a great holiday gift for any beauty junkie. The good news is that they are now permanent.
You can currently find them at Sephora, link here. Thank you for stopping by today. Have a great week!
