If you’ve read my previous blog posts, you know that I am a fan of liquid lipsticks, so when the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits were released, I somehow managed to snag Dolce K online during its initial release, in the minutes before it sold out. The lip kits contain one Matte Liquid Lipstick and one coordinating pencil lip liner for the retail price of 0f $29. Today I’d like to share product information, swatches as well as comparison swatches, and finally, my overall review. Kindly scroll below for more details.
Here’s a description of the product via their website:
Each Lip Kit is applied with one swipe color that glides across lips and dries down to a powdery-soft, matte finish. Homogenous color in natural nudes and deep browns give unparalleled comfort and wear. The oil free formula has 25% pigment which provides instant color. The perfect blend of waxes, silicone and polymers give you smooth and easy glide color, with long wearing properties.
The lip kits come inside a box with Kylie’s name on it. The box prominently displays lips drenched in lipstick. Once you take out its contents, Kylie’s signature is also displayed on both the lip liner and liquid lipstick. I would describe Dolce K as a medium tan nude color. It is a very wearable nude with cool undertones, which I think could work for most skin tones. Once you twist it open, you will immediately notice a strong, sweet scent. I would describe it as a vanilla-butterscotch scent. This does not bother me whatsoever, but for those of you that are sensitive to scents this is something you should consider before purchasing. The liquid lipstick contains a doe felt applicator that is slightly curved up which allows for a more precise application. It was, therefore, a breeze to maneuver and apply the color on my lip. In terms of its formulation, it has a creamy and mousse-y texture, which I really like. It does not apply wet or liquidy like some other liquid lipstick brands. I think that all liquid lipsticks are drying to some degree, and this one wore quite comfortably through out the day. I did notice a little fading towards the center after 5 hours of wear but other than that, it lasted throughout the day. The coordinating lip liner was creamy, pigmented and smooth. It glided on SO nicely. It is a winning combination and I received so many compliments through out the day when wearing it. Swatches to follow below.

I decided to pull out some of my other liquid lip stains in the same nude brown color family for comparison purposes. I was sure that I could find a close enough dupe and though some colors came close, there did not exist a perfect dupe. Scroll below for my color comparisons.
The two colors that came closest was Truffle from Dose of Colors and Celebrity Skin by Jeffree Star. Dolce K leans more towards a cool tan brown, while Truffle is more of a pink toned brown. Celebrity Skin has more of a peach undertone, which makes it more of a light warm nude.
My Overall Thoughts:
I am pleased with the formula, performance and color pay off of my purchase of the Kylie Lip Kit in Dolce K. It really is a beautiful, wearable brown nude that I think is universally flattering and will look good on just about anyone. Though I thought the price was initially steep, it is quite reasonable considering that most liquid lipsticks cost around $20-24 and you are also getting a coordinating lip pencil with the kit. I am seriously considering purchasing Candy K when it becomes available again online. Pictured below is me wearing Dolce K on my lips, taken in natural daylight.
