Tarteist Lip Paint: Namaste & Love Spell Review and Swatches

Creamy. Velvety. Pigmented. These are the words I would use to describe Tarte Cosmetics’ Tarteist Lip Paints. My obsession with liquid lipstick formulas is still going strong. I like the longevity and color saturation they provide and today I would like to share my thoughts and review on two colors I recently purchased at IMATS, Namaste and Love Spell.

Namaste is a beautiful nude and Love Spell is officially described as pink, though I think that it leans more towards a deeper berry pink. The formula has a mousse like consistency and felt very whipped in texture.  The soft, slanted applicator wand makes it extremely easy to apply. It is neither too long or too short, which gives me more precision and control when applying.  The lip paints are housed in very simple, basic packaging featuring a black twist off cap with gold embossed lettering on the front of the tube.

Both shades contain a mint-like flavor and fragrance which I found pleasant and not the least off-putting. Both shades provide beautiful opaque coverage in a single swipe. What I like about the formula is that it is not as drying as some of the other liquid lip stains I’ve worn. It provided a good 5-6 hours of wear. It feels very light weight and wore comfortably throughout the day, though the color does transfer when eating and/or drinking. Personally, I don’t mind retouching. I typically retouch my makeup after meals in any case. However, if you’re looking for a bulletproof, transfer free formula, this might not be for you. As for me, I think this is one of the most comfortable lip stain formulas I’ve ever tried and the color saturation and payoff is really amazing.

Bottom line, I am pleased with the color pay off and performance of the colors I’ve tried so far from  their Tarteist lip paint collection. The formula is not the least drying and it is so concentrated that a little goes a very long way. I am simply amazed with my first introduction to their liquid lip stain offerings and I would recommend them for those of you looking for a comfortable liquid lip stain formula. Pictured below is a Snapchat image (not filtered) of me wearing the color Love Spell, taken at IMATS.

There are currently 14 on trend shades available on their site and they are also available at Macy’s and Sephora.

Thanks for stopping by today. Are you planning on picking any up?
