Can you believe that the first month of the year has already passed? I can’t believe it’s already February. January was filled with a lot of exciting beauty events and new releases. From IMATS to Gen Beauty LA, it was an exciting month for makeup junkies and beauty aficionados. Today I’d like to share a pared down list of my beauty favorites for January. Some of these items are fairly new releases while some are products that I’ve used heavily in my rotation. Scroll below for details.
Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette In Bloom: This palette has been used heavily in my makeup routine this month. It contains the perfect mix of warm neutrals and neutrals are my jam. I can create looks that take me from day to night. The shadows are pigmented, smooth, and they blend beautifully. I just adore and love the packaging as well.
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer: This new addition to my concealer stash is lightweight, creamy and provides great everyday coverage. Most importantly, it does not crease and is long lasting, which is a major plus. (Reviewed Here)
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara: Three coats for voluminously long lashes in the carbon black variety that I like. This one truly delivers. It doesn’t clump nor flake and is the perfect finishing touch. Stay tuned for a full review.
H&M Lipstick in Cream Chesnut: I’m really impressed with the H&M line of lipsticks. They are not only affordable but provide beautifully opaque creamy coverage. This is such a beautiful pink nude that doesn’t wash me out. I am so happy with this purchase.
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick (Various colors)-I know that this latest release from MAC’s permanent collection has been receiving some mixed reviews lately, however, they work well for me. (Reviewed here) I have worn several colors over the month and they deliver fool proof wear with the color pay off to match– and I’m talking about lasting through dinner without having to re-touch. As with many liquid lipstick formulas–it’s best to always prep your lips by exfoliating or priming in advance.
Dior Glowing Gardens Illuminator Glowing Pink and Glowing Nude-I have been on quite a highlighter kick, and it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. These illuminators provide the most soft, subtle highlight without being overly too shimmery or over the top. It’s one of those products that you can get away with wearing on any occasion because it just suits me so well and delivers a beautiful glow. (Reviewed here)
Finally, my last pick is the UD x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette, reviewed here. I love the packaging, I love the colors included which provides your blush, highlighter and bronzer all- in- one. I will admit that some of the colors are more suitable for fair skinned folks, however, they are beautiful colors to layer and work with nonetheless and I am happy to add this to my limited edition Urban Decay stash.
Thank you for stopping by today.
What were some of your January beauty favorites? I’d love to know.
