Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Lipsticks: Sorry Not Sorry, Hey Gurrl, Troublemaker: Review and Swatches

Although it is not yet officially Spring, Summer 2016 makeup releases are now surfacing. Too Faced will be launching their Summer 2016 collection on March 17th, which includes their highly anticipated Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette, the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush and Sweethearts Bronzer along with a new waterproof version of their best selling Better than Sex mascara. In addition to these items, Too Faced recently launched their La Matte Color Drenched lipsticks; available in 10 shade selections, and I picked up three of them to share with you today. These gorgeous new shades also boast the same hydrating and moisturizing ingredients found in their La Creme lipsticks.

Sorry Not Sorry: Matte Peachy Nude

Hey Gurrl: Matte Deep Rose

Trouble Maker: Matte Hot Pink

“Innovative high-pigment formula applies creamy as it warms to the skin, softening into stunningly saturated, non-drying matte color that stays plush and wearable. No-bleed, no-feathering formula is infused with Lotus Flower Extract to soothe and hydrate, leaving lips soft, supple, and beautifully matte.”

In contrast to the sleek gold packaging of the La Creme lipsticks, the La Matte version is housed in sleek black packaging with gold accents, which I find is useful in helping me distinguish between the two formulas when storing them.

The formula shares the same slightly fragranced scent of the original La Creme lipsticks. Since this is a matte version, it applies slightly differently than the Le Creme version. While the Le Creme lipsticks glide on effortlessly like a lip balm, this formula is just slightly less creamy when comparing the two. In my estimation, if I had to compare the creaminess of both formulas, the La Creme would be a solid 10, while the La Matte version is an 8.5.

The colors are beautifully pigmented and provide excellent color payoff. You get full opaque coverage in a singe swipe. They do not feel drying whatsoever throughout the day and did not migrate outside of my lip lines, either. I achieved about 5 hours of wear with this formula. Swatches to follow below.

These lipsticks did not disappoint in terms of color pigmentation and payoff. They do feel quite comfortable as a matte lipstick formula and I was pleased with the three shades I selected. As always, exfoliating and/or priming your lips will help to ensure the best application possible.  Sorry Not Sorry is another nude that I will enjoy putting in my rotation, while Troublemaker will most certainly receive some good wear time this Spring and Summer. There are a total of 10 gorgeous shades to choose from.

The Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Lipsticks retail for $22 and are now available on their official website which you can find here.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have you tried any of the new colors?
