The Makeup Show LA recently wrapped this weekend in Los Angeles. I had the pleasure of attending and today I will be sharing with you a post brimming with images from the event. The event is open to both makeup professionals as well as students and it is best described as an event dedicated to artistry, networking, community, inspiration and education via their official website. Those in attendance not only had the opportunity to fill their kit with essentials at a generously discounted pro rate, but they also had the opportunity to explore and learn from business forums and keynotes. This was my second time attending the show, and I truly had an amazing time. Kindly scroll below for more images and details.
The first booth I visited was the Kat Von D booth. This was perhaps the most popular booth at the show as long lines awaited those who anxiously waited to procure her popular range of foundations, liquid lipsticks and palettes.
A bundle deal which included both Shade + Light palettes as well as both Shade+ Light brushes at 40% off was available for purchase.
The addition of an Instaprint section, in which KVD fans could print out images posted to their instagram account using the hashtag #KVDBeautyxTMSLA was a very neat touch.
I was very excited to visit the Beautylish booth which had Natasha Denona’s new line of blushes available for purchase. I picked up shade number 15 to share with you in a subsequent post.
I also visited the Muse Beauty Pro booth which had the complete range of Viseart palettes available for purchase. Last year I picked up their Dark Mattes Palette, hot off its launch.
This year Viseart introduces three new Theory Palettes in Minx, Chroma, and Cashmere. I pre-ordered Minx, which is such a beautiful range of neutral matte and shimmer shades. I can’t wait to share it with you!
I also stopped by the Nars booth to create a customized pro palette for my kit. I have been looking forward to putting my together my palette, and alas, it’s finally coming together. The NARS Melrose associates working there are always so helpful and courteous.
A spectacular selection of NARS blush shades to choose from.
Pictured above: Attendees making their rounds to several booths which all had varying specials and generous discounts available.
The INGLOT booth was quite popular with a huge range of color selections to choose from.
I was thrilled Jouer products were sold at the Frends Beauty Booth. I picked up their Matte Moisture Tint and I look forward to what’s in store for this company in 2016.
I also visited The Sephora Pro Collection booth. This year, their Pro Feather Weight Brush line was available for purchase. The anticipated release date is in April. I picked up a total of two brushes to share with you later.
The Pur Cosmetics booth had new Strobe Palettes available for purchase. (Pictured in the center) I really had a fun time meeting the PUR Team and look forward to receiving the palette I purchased in the mail.
For the first time ever, Urban Decay made its very first appearance at The Makeup Show. Many of their bestsellers as well as their entire summer collection was available for purchase at the PRO rate of 40% off! I took advantage of this deal and purchased all three of their newly released Afterglow highlighters.
The Makeup Forever Booth was also very popular. Many of their covetable Spring releases were available for purchase.
Artistry at its finest—-beautiful makeup application, contour, and detailing all executed with precision.

Keynote presented by Scott Barnes-The Signature Style of a Celebrity Artist
Scott Barnes is one of the most celebrated and sought after makeup artists in the industry. In his first time keynote, Scott Barnes demonstrated his signature techniques as well as his style and skill as a celebrity artist.
Perhaps the most anticipated Keynote was Kat Von D’s Living in Color hosted by James Vincent. Kat insightfully shared how she developed her beauty brand and successfully made a name for herself while staying true to her own beliefs and passions. She was very inspiring, funny, and humble. This was the highlight of the day’s event.
“I am a canvas of my experiences.”-Kat Von D. Press Play below for a snippet of her interview.
Erik Soto, Kat Von D Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist also took the stage to to share some tips and tricks.
I had a wonderful time at The Makeup Show and look forward to attending next year.
