Givenchy Beauty’s Limited Edition Magnolia Couture collection finally made its debut in stores. This collection, much like last year’s limited edition release is housed in a stunningly beautiful pattern of floral prints of white and pink Magnolias against a black backdrop with the Givenchy logo emblazoned in the front. I picked up both the Prisme Libre Powder and the Lipstick in Carmin Escarpin and today I have swatches and thoughts to share with you.
Let’s start with Givenchy’s signature Le Rouge lipstick in the shade 306, Carmin Escarpin, which I would describe as an orange red. It’s beautifully housed in an elegant silver and leather sheath that can be used interchangeably to house any of your favorite Le Rouge lipsticks. The lipstick is creamy, incredibly pigmented and glides on very smoothly. I was able to achieve a semi-matte cream finish that lasted about 4 hours before minimal reapplication after lunch. The color was very flattering against my medium golden skin tone and I think this color would be suitable for most, if not skin tones and types. It’s such a beautiful cheery, color that instantly brightens my lips and I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly positive about this particular purchase.
Next is Givenchy’s Prisme Libre Magnolia Couture Edition loose powder. It’s a mattifying and color correcting loose powder in the shade Mousseline Pastel which combines four shades into one perfect harmony, meant to be used to help correct and reduce imperfections, imparting a smooth perfected finish. I purchased the powder from last year’s limited edition release and I’ve had the opportunity to use it for quite some time. Swirled together, the powder helps to mattify and set my makeup. I cannot discern whether it has helped my complexion in terms of color correcting. The finish and texture is really lightweight for me to tell, though I must say it glides on very evenly and helps to provide a very soft mattifying finish. The case includes a white microfiber powder puff, though I prefer to use it with a small powder brush. In comparison to my other setting powders, this is one that I would probably not use everyday. I prefer to use my Laura Mercier translucent powder for everyday use. This is one to keep for my limited edition makeup collection. If you love stunning limited edition pieces, then this might possibly be for you.
Bottom line, the Givenchy Beauty Magnolia Couture Edition for Spring 2016 are beautiful pieces that can make it’s way to any makeup lover’s heart. Are they a must have? It really depends on your makeup preference. I am so enamored with these stunning pieces and I look forward to putting them to use this summer.
The Givenchy Prisme Libre Powder retails for $57 while the Le Rouge Carmin Escarpin Lipstick retails for $38. You can currently find them at Sephora. Do you have any of these items on your list?
Thanks for stopping by today.
