Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua

To me, a good scent often has the ability to evoke a distinct memory, whether it is the smell of freshly cut grass or the scent of fresh air after the rainfall. Enter in Tom Ford’s newly released fragrance, Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua* which is inspired by the atmosphere of the Italian Riviera. It has distinct notes of fresh citrus, neroli and amber. Upon reading the description and taking a whiff, it made me reminisce of my time spent visiting the charming town of Eze Village one summer, off the beautiful waters of the Meditteraenean sea. Tom Ford is well known for its luxe packaging, and the packaging for this fragrance is no exception. It is housed in a beautiful turquoise- blue bottle accented by the luxe gold Tom Ford logo at the top of the cap.

Neroli Portofino is Tom Ford’s reinvention of a classic eau de cologne, created to capture the cool breezes, sparkling waters and lush foliage of Portofino and its mix of arresting beauty and old world glamour. Inspired by the transportive experience of inhaling Neroli oil from the region’s prized bitter orange tree, Neroli Portofino is a fusion of crisp, citrus oils Neroli, Sicilian lemon, mandarin, and bergamot with surprising, floral notes and amber undertones.

The scent is described as unisex, and is for both men and women. It’s fresh with its fusion of crisp citrus oils, yet the amber notes make it feminine and sensual in my opinion. The only other fragrance I own from Tom Ford is Velvet Orchid and I would say that this scent is lighter and less over powering.  After initial application, it is not overwhelming whatsoever. It’s fresh, soft and sensual, yet subtle and powerfully addictive at the same time. It’s absolutely intoxicating.  One thing that I love about this scent is that it lasts. The scent still lingers at the end of the day after having it on from morning until evening.

Honestly, I don’t have many fragrances in my collection to begin with. One thing that I like to do is rotate my fragrances through the seasons. I prefer to wear stronger, deeper scents in the fall and more fresh and airy fragrances in the spring and summer. With its fusion of crisp citrus notes and amber undertones, Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino Acqua delightfully captures the essence of summer and I look forward to wearing this fragrance all season.

Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino Acqua retails at the starting price of $150 for a 1.7 oz and can be found at Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and the official Tom Ford Site which you can find here. (not affiliate links)

What fragrances are you currently loving or have in your rotation? I’d love to read about it.

Thanks for stopping by today!
