Marc Jacobs Beauty recently launched 5 new Air Blush Soft Duos which feature two complimentary shades that merge together to help you achieve a customized finish. The blush duos are created through a process called soufflage, French for “air whipped” and features a unique striped band which was inspired by a Marc Jacobs dress on the runway. Once images surfaced online, I was very intrigued and excited about its launch. I initially purchased three of he colors and was kindly sent a surprise package of all five blush duos recently. Today I have an updated post with images of all five blush duos and swatches to share with you. Kindly scroll below for details and my review.
Each blush duo contains a lighter and deeper shade. I have found that the lighter shades appear to be more of a highlighting shade with more of a luminous finish, while the deeper shade provides a satin finish that is very complimentary. Since each section of product is quite narrow, I have found that the best way to apply the air blush is by using a small angled blush brush. I can use it to pick up a single color at the end of the blush pan, where each individual shade is widest, before blending the shades together for a customized finish. I apply the darker shade to the hollow of my cheekbones, while applying a mix of the two shades to the apple of my cheeks. It feels incredibly lightweight, and immediately provides beautiful definition to my face along with a flush of radiance and luminosity. Scroll below for product color descriptions and swatches.

The texture of the powders feel extremely soft, smooth and silky to the touch. Each Air Blush duo applies and blends seamlessly. It is effortlessly wearable, with a finish that is completely customizable and to your liking. I do own a few of the original Marc Jacobs Beauty blushes and I must say that this launch is what I would call the “upgraded version 2.o.”
In terms of longevity, it was still going strong after a total of 14 hours before I had to take off my makeup and go to bed, though its quite possible it could have lasted longer as it claims to last up to 24 hours. During the day my makeup held well, despite the southern California heat. I did not see any signs of fading or product break down, which is a major plus.
Bottom line, I am deeply impressed with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Duos. The two colors contained within each pan work together harmoniously to create a beautiful luminous finish that is buildable, and to your liking. The formula blends like a dream and I am delighted by the soft, silky consistency of these blush duos.
