Today I’d like to share a few recent additions I picked up from a couple of Chanel Collections for Fall. The first are my picks from the Le Rouge Collection No. 1 and the second are items I picked from the Ultra Wear Flawless Foundation Collection. Upon seeing the collection surface online, I was immediately drawn to the warm red and brown tones. Though everything in the collection looked enticing, I decided to pick up a few pieces that really captivated me and pieces I would honestly use in the months to come. Otherwise, it would have cost me a fortune! The Le Rouge collection pieces were purchased in late July, but I did not have the chance to play and test the shades until recently. Now that I’ve had ample time to test and play with these new additions, I’d like to share my overall thoughts.
My purchases from each collection:
Le Rouge Collection No. 1:
Ultra Wear Flawless Foundation Collection:

First up is the Chanel Les 4 Ombres 268 Candeur Et Experience eyeshadow quad. This quad features all matte shades and it is absolutely stunning with rich tones that are fall appropriate. I am partial to matte eyeshadow finishes, and this one did not disappoint. The eyeshadows are smooth, pigmented, and blend beautifully with no fall out. The quad features complementary shades that can create endless looks that take you from day to night. The stand out brick red shade is not to be feared, for it adds beautiful warmth, dimension and defines the eye beautifully. I am so impressed with the color selection and color pay off of this palette. I have nothing bad to say about it, except I wish Chanel would get rid of the small eyeshadow applicators which I find completely useless. Otherwise, this is the star of the collection in my opinion.
Next up is the Joues Contraste in Rouge Profond, which is a matte red shade. The shade might be quite intimidating at first because the color is so rich. I have found that a little truly goes a long way as this shade is quite intense. I have to use a light hand to create a soft, subtle flush of color on my cheeks. In terms of quality, it is what I’ve come to expect from Chanel blushes—soft, finely milled, and beautifully pigmented. Although it is described as a matte blush, I feel there is a bit of a sheen to it when applied. This looks beautiful when paired and blended with Evening Beige. The blush is a truly standout color that provides beautiful definition to the cheeks. I think this color would work best for medium to deeper skin tones as it might look too clown like on more fair skin tones if it’s not used sparingly.
Joues Contraste in Evening Beige is a warm shimmery copper beige. It’s a stunning color that reminds me a bit of the infamous Orgasm Blush by Nars, but I would say that it is not as vibrant as the Orgasm blush is. I fell in love with this blush after seeing it on the display at the Saks counter. Quality wise, it’s soft, finely milled, and beautifully pigmented and I love the warm flush and beautiful shimmer that it imparts. It’s not too over the top and just perfect. I think this shade is universally flattering, so if I only had to pick one of the two I purchased, this would be it!
Finally, I picked up the Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in Rouge Vie, a soft matte red. It’s described as a next-generation, non-drying matte lipstick that glides on lips with intensely rich, long-wearing colour and I would say the description is accurate. Although it is described as a matte lipstick, there is a soft sheen to it and it is so rich, gorgeously pigmented and beautiful. I am in love with this shade. I received many compliments while wearing it. Though it’s matte, it’s not completely transfer proof. It will fade slightly in the center after eating and drinking, which will require a light reapplication. It’s a beautiful red lipstick and a really nice one to have.
The stand out items to me are the Les 4 Ombre Quad and Joues Contraste blush in Evening Beige. If I had to narrow it down further, I would say the quad is an item you don’t want to miss out on, given its limited edition offering. One item that I did not pick out this year is the Illusion d Ombre shadows. I purchased two from last year’s fall collection, reviewed here, that have since dried in the pot. The caps were secured tight, so I am not sure what happened. This year, I steered clear from them and wanted to give you a heads up.
