Stila Starlight Starbright Highlighting Palette: Swatches and First Impressions

Another holiday launch that I picked up during early holiday access from the Beauty Insider Appreciation event is Stila’s Starlight, Starbright Highlighting Palette. It’s a limited edition palette that houses a trio of three shades to illuminate and enhance the skin.

Priced at $39, the highlighters are housed within a sleek, rectangular gold compact that opens up to a sizable mirror.  Details via Sephora:

“Create starlet illumination with the Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette. Bouncy to the touch, these unique, radiance-enhancing highlighters melt into skin for a barely-there feel. Infused with ultra-fine, light-diffusing particles, they help skin look lit from within for a natural-looking glow. Layer these shades together or wear them alone and let your skin steal the spotlight this holiday season. Wear Transcendence’s opalescent pink for a bold, ethereal glow, sweep on Kitten, a shimmering pink nude that brightens and illuminates, or wear the Bronze highlighter for a radiant, sunkissed glow.”

The Shades from Left to Right:

Transcendence: Opalescent Pink for an ethereal glow

Kitten: Shimmering Nude to brighten and illuminate- Stila’s iconic shade

Bronze:  Radiant, Sunkissed Glow

From Top: Transcendence, Kitten, Bronze

First Impressions:

The texture is soft and bouncy and I would say that it feels like a hybrid between a cream and a powder. The highlighters are smooth to the touch and glide onto the skin with a “barely there feel” as claimed. Pigment wise, I think it is decent. I had to swatch it a few times to get the desired intensity. Of the three shades, Kitten is my favorite while Bronze is a close second. These shades suit my warm medium golden NW 35 skin tone beautifully, I’ve worn them alone and also  layered them together. I also used Kitten  to highlight my brow bone—it’s a beloved eyeshadow shade that I’ve used over the years. The trio is versatile which is an added plus. If you are looking for a subtle, not too over the top illuminator then this is worth looking into. If you are looking for something more intense, this might not work for you. With that being said, I think the trio is simply gorgeous and a beautiful holiday release from Stila Cosmetics.  It’s priced at $39 and currently available at Sephora.

 Is this on your radar?
