IMATS LOS ANGELES
IMATS LA wrapped up this weekend in Pasadena, CA. I attended on the final day which was Sunday, January 17th. My best friend purchased tickets for me as a birthday gift last fall and needless to say, I was thrilled! There were so many different vendors that the booths were split into two different halls. The venue was packed as beauty enthusiasts from all over convened upon the Pasadena Convention Center to happily haul their hearts out. Amidst the long lines and crowds, I managed to haul home some highly anticipated new releases that I will follow up with blog posts later. It was exciting to see all the major makeup brands in one spot. This is open for anyone attend, and is not limited to just makeup artists or beauty professionals, so if you have an opportunity to attend an IMATS event in a city nearby in the future, I would highly recommend it.
EXCITING NEW RELEASES
There were many new launches that were available for purchase during IMATS weekend, so I made an effort to visit these booths first. The Beautylish booth featured a new line from makeup artist Natasha Denona. At this time, they are offering her Glow System online which feature items for the complexion. The other items are expected to launch later this month. I was happy that my friend Trisha (@trishalee_w) was working the booth and she helped me select a 5 pan eyeshadow palette. The color selection, pigmentation and feel of the eyeshadows are absolutely amazing and I have I feeling I am going to fall in love with her range of products. I picked up palette #10, one for myself and one for a friend as well as one of her new lip glosses, which looked and felt phenomenal on my lips.
Tartecosmetics-Rainforest of the Sea Collection
In addition to visiting the Beautylish booth, I visited the Tartecosmetics booth which had some popular items at a discounted rate for purchase. I purchased two Tarteist Lip paints after trying them on---smooth, creamy and gorgeously pigmented! They were $5 off the retail price which was a good value. As far as new releases go, I purchased the Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette. It is slated to be released in March and is a water infused highlighting palette with a range of three shades to highlight and give you a sunkissed glow. After swatching in store, I knew I had to have it. Swatches and details to be posted later this week.
Dose of Colors-Eye Deal Duo and new Liquid Lipstick Shades
One booth that understandably had one of the longest lines was Dose of Colors. Their range of liquid lipsticks have become very popular. I am a huge fan so I was excited to hear that not only was the line releasing new colors from their liquid lipstick collection, but also a range of loose pigment and primer sold in a set of duos. I purchased the new liquid lipsticks in the color Mood and Desert Suede and the Eyedeal Duos in Shell and Maroon. I can't wait to play with these!
Lorac Cosmetics-Color Source Buildable Blushes
Finally, I picked up two of Lorac's Color Source Buildable Blushes. I was a huge fan of their PRO powder cheek stains, particularly in the color Rosy Glow and I am excited about this new formula, which can be worn sheer or layered for color intensity. They also are infused with anti-aging antioxidants and Vitamins A,C, and E which is what you can expect from many items from their line. I was thrilled that they were priced at 40% off at the Naimie's booth. I tried them on and they are incredibly smooth, silky and provide a true- to matte-finish.
I truly had an incredible time. Though I purchased some other beauty items, this blog post primarily focused on the new exciting releases. I did not to get around to visiting some of the other booths such as Anastasia Beverly Hills and Morphe Brushes. (the lines never dwindled) Fortunately, I can still order the items online or visit in- store. I am thrilled about the new additions to my beauty stash. It was such an incredible day and I look forward to attending in the future.
