The MAC x Mariah Carey Collection launches in store tomorrow and this is one you don’t want to miss! It’s so over the top, but rightfully so. It embodies her recognizable sense of style, glamour, and all that glitters and sparkles. The packaging is to die for! I have been a fan of her music for over 20 years—yes you read that right, 20 years. In grade school, I was jamming to the catchy tune of “Dreamlover. “ In middle school, “Hero” was my favorite ballad along with “One Sweet Day, “ her collaboration with the R&B group Boys II Men. In high school it was all about “Honey. ” In college, I experienced my first relationship heartache. The song “We Belong Together” was on repeat for weeks. Though I’ve since come to terms with it, that song will always have a special place in my heart. Her music resonates with me in so many ways and today I’m excited to bring you my picks and swatches from this stunning collection.
I purchased the collection online during early access for MAC Devoted, Obsessed, and PRO Members. I knew I wanted all the lipsticks! I was completely enamored with the sparkly silver bullets once images of it surfaced online. It’s probably going to rank among one of my favorites of all time. The images I took could not accurately capture how beautiful it sparkles when held in the palm of your hand. I do like a good nude lip that pairs well with a smoky eye, and this range of nude tones along with some metallic finishes has got me covered it that department.

I initially ordered only one of the eyeshadow palettes in I’m that Chick You Like, but then experienced a major FOMO moment and placed a second order for the It’s Everything palette. The shadows are housed in the most glamorous packaging of silver and gold, and what’s inside will not disappoint. I oohed and aahed with every swipe. They are smooth, pigmented and simply gorgeous. Swatches below were taken with one swipe of the finger. I can’t even begin to describe how stunning the shade Diamond Butterfly is. It is part of the It’s Everything Palette and it really is everything! It’s a silver white shimmer frosty shade that is even more stunning than it is in the pan. Swatch once, and you will see! Extra Dimension Skinfinish My Mimi, $45.50
The star of the collection no doubt is the Extra Dimension Skin Finish in My Mimi. The raised eyebrow, darling side part, and adorable closed eyelid with lashes galore is almost too pretty touch. The color is described as warm gold shimmer and this is accurate. It’s a warm golden shimmer that needs but the lightest hand. It’s incredibly silky, smooth, and pigmented which is what I’ve come to expect from the Extra Dimension Skin Finish formula. A little really goes a long way. I am going to strategically use this one in an effort to keep the embossing intact. I will likely get a backup.
Sweet Sweet Fantasy Powder Blush, $24
There are two blush shades available and I chose Sweet Sweet Fantasy of the two because I knew it would suit my medium golden skin well. It’s a deep coral with a slight shimmery finish that brings immediate all over warmth to my complexion. I hope to check out the other offering from this collection, You’ve Got Me Feeling, a light candy pink in store. Swatches to follow below.
MARIAH CAREY COLLECTION LIPGLASS, $18.50
Each lipglass from this collection is impeccably packaged. It includes a glittery silver cap with champagne gold accents on the tube. In this collection, you get a range of shimmery hues in pink, gold, and bronze–shades that reflect Mariah’s signature style. The glosses pair well with the lipsticks in this collection and provides my lips definition and shine in the most flattering way. If you’re looking for some MLBB shades, you are certain to find one in this selection.

Eye Shader Brush, $28.50 and Eyelashes in It’s Like That Y’all, $18
Of course the collection wouldn’t be complete without the right accessories and the *Eye Shader brush in #239 is luxurious in every sense of the word. It literally sparkles with each twist and turn! I spent a good amount of time delightfully twirling it ’round and ’round when I first received it. It’s every makeup junkie’s dream and a great collector’s piece to own.
The perfect finishing touch to any glamorous look is a set of beautiful lashes. There are two pairs of lashes tin this collection. *It’s Like that Y’all is the more dramatic pair of the two, offering both length and volume. I anticipate using it often for the upcoming festivities that this season brings.
In short, I am so in love with everything in this collection. MAC really knocked it out of the park with this holiday collection. Every girl could use a little glamour in her life and this would make the perfect gift for any Mariah Carey fan or makeup lover.
The MAC x Mariah collection will launch in stores December 15th and will be available at most major beauty retailers such as Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales, Macy’s and Dillard’s.
