MAC is on fire with their latest launches. There is a lot of exciting new products in store for winter 2017. The latest launch is the MAC x Caitlyn Jenner collaboration, which features elegant classic everyday hues with a touch of glamour. I picked out two items from the collection that really stood out to me–the powder blush duo in Buddy and the lipstick in Rock It. Scroll below to see more product images and swatches.
I love the elegant black and gold packaging which I think is very luxe and elegant. The Powder Blush Duo contains both matte and shimmery hues that is described as a mid tone peach/bronze. I would say that this is fairly accurate, however overall it definitely leans more towards the pink-peachy side of the color spectrum. The shade provides a beautiful, healthy flush of color the cheeks that is very natural, yet buildable.
The lipstick in Rock It is a mid tone beige with a cremesheen finish. The color is a beautiful MLBB shade that can be worn as an everyday shade.I chose this color for that reason and I do like how nicely the Cremesheen formula glides on my lips. It’s lightweight and feels very hydrating. Swatches to follow below.
There you have it. My two picks from the MAC Caitlyn Jenner collection. The collection truly has very elegant, classic shades that I think could work for most people, however it is not a ‘must- have- every- piece’ collection like the MAC X Mariah Carey Collection was for me. This collection has garnered some reactions, both positive and negative from the beauty community. It’s important to be respectful and understand that MAC has always celebrated diversity in in every sense of the word. This collaboration is in line with the company’s commitment to celebrate and represent all ages, all races, and all sexes. Kudos to MAC for that!
