MAC’s latest Viva Glam Campaign is in collaboration with actress Taraji P. Henson, and includes a new signature lipstick shade along with a matching lipglass. If you are not familiar with the Viva Glam campaign, every cent from the selling price of M·A·C VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass goes towards helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. It’s a great cause, and MAC has since raised over 400 million dollars to date! There have been many collaborations with well known celebrities over the years, and I was truly excited about this launch. I am a fan of Taraji’s work–Empire fans, anyone? I truly think the shade in this latest launch is universally flattering and could work for just about everyone.
The MAC Viva Glam Taraji P Henson Lipstick is described as a matte fuchsia with Pearl. It is packaged in a fuchsia bullet that reminds me of the MAC x Giambatistta Valli collection and more recently, the Shadescents lipsticks, reviewed here. The shade is gorgeously pigmented, opaque and has a comfortable matte finish that I did not find to be drying. I love the pop of color it provides on my lips.
The MAC Viva Glam Taraji P Henson Lipglass is described as shimmering fuchsia raspberry. It’s a stunning rasperry shade that saturates my lips with color in one swipe. The pigmentation is excellent, seen below is one swipe of the Lipglass. It is not overtly shimmery nor does it feel sticky when worn. They can be worn alone or layered together and look beautiful all three ways depending on your preference.
