Smashbox Cosmetics recently launched their Be Legendary Liquid Lip Pigments*, now available in two different categories, 9 of which are Liquid Metals, with a foiled finish, and 8 of which are Liquid Pigments with a Vinyl Finish. They are described as liquid lipsticks with a high-impact shine and rich saturated color along with a lightweight texture. The shades were made in collaboration with Smashbox Cosmetics’ Lip Editor-in-Chief Vlada Haggerty. She is an amazing lip artist and you can find her work on her instagram page here. I initially purchased three of the shades in Bad B, Rose B4 Bros and Mauve squad when lo and behold, a jaw dropping PR package of the entire collection arrived. Today I’m excited to share swatches of the entire range as well as my review.

FINAL THOUGHTS
They are incredibly pigmented with one swipe and do not completely dry down to a matte finish as most liquid lipsticks do but they deliver pigment that feels incredibly lightweight and comfortable. The pointed tip makes it easy to maneuver the wand and get a more precise application. You get a high shine finish in a single coat and that adds dimension and helps to also give the illusion of a fuller pout with the high metallic finish. You get full opacity with one swipe! What you see in the tube is what you get— Rich, true pigment that delivers amazing color and saturation on the lips. They are not completely transfer free when eating or drinking. There is some fading in the center that I experienced with light snacks but the staying power is good. I wore Rose B4 Bros for about 7 hours through a couple of light meals and the color was still intact. Thought it faded from its initial intensity when freshly applied, it left a beautiful stain that was still visible at night’s end as shared in my Instastories via my Instagram a few days ago. They are versatile, effortlessly wearable and can be mixed. I can apply a little bit of Mauve Squad to the center to add a little more dimension and create the illusion of fuller lips. There is a lot to love with this collection and there are so many different colors to play with ranging from nudes, reds, to more bold hued colors in gray and blue.
