Makeup Geek Cosmetics will be launching their In the Nude Collection tomorrow, June 15th. I had the pleasure of attending the launch last Friday and today I have an overview to share with you along with swatches. The collection consists of very wearable neutrals, from a 9 pan Eyeshadow palette along with three new Luster Bronzers, the brand’s new powder bronzer. It’s a collection that is a departure from bright summer colors and focuses on everyday shades that can help to accent and glorify the skin you’re in.
In The Nude 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette
The In The Nude 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette consists of 5 of Makeup Geek’s most popular matte, shimmer, and foiled shadows along with the introduction of 4 new matte eyeshadows. The shadows are beautifully pigmented and provide great color payoff. It is my first introduction to their foiled shadows and oh my, they sure pack a punch and are phenomenal! Shade descriptions to follow below.
In the Spotlight-soft pink with coral undertones (foiled)
Rapunzel-light peachy champagne (metallic)
Tan Lines- fawn brown (matte)
Grandstand- medium rose gold with slight taupe undertones (foiled)
Cabin Fever- chesnut brown (matte)
So Pale-the perfect “not quite white” (new matte shade)
Buffed- peachy Tan (new matte shade)
Creased-medium taupe/tan (new matte shade)
Dark Roast-deep expresso brown (new matte shade)
Makeup Geek In the Nude Eyeshadow Palette Swatches
Bronze Luster
In addition to the release of the 9 Pan Eyeshadow palette, Makeup Geek introduces a range of their Bronze Luster Bronzers which is described as combining silky mineral pigments with a delicate kiss of pearl to wrap the skin in a radiant, healthy Bronze Luster. There are three shades available to suit a range of skin tones:
Sun Kissed- a delicate kiss of warmth for the fairest skin
Tawny-a sun-drenched embrace for medium skin tones
Burnished- a warm caress for deep skin tones
There is a bit of a sheen to them and Tawny and Burnished suited my medium golden NW 35 skin tone perfectly. Below are swatches with a heavy hand. As you can see, sun kissed appeared more like a highlight rather than a bronzer on my skin since it was developed for fair skin ladies. The powders are soft and creamy and appeared beautifully on my skin for a natural, subtle all over sun-kissed bronze.
I think the collection has a perfect mix of everyday colors than can not only work in the summer, but all year round. If you are a neutral makeup lover, this is definitely something worth checking out.
The In the Nude 9 Pan Eyeshadow Palette will retail for $50 while each Bronze Luster Powder will retail for $22 each. You can check out the collection by visiting their site here.
I look forward to putting this collection to use all year round.
