Today’s blog post will feature a gorgeous new addition from Yves Saint Laurent Beauty’s Summer 2017 Collection: the Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones in Fire Opal No. 2. I purchased the bronzer last year and this year’s limited edition release is inspired by the vibrant colors and exotic adventure of a jungle safari; and is cloaked with a gorgeous snake skin effect. It features a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind embossing that seemingly mimics the desert sand with the YSL logo prominently featured front and center.
“Capture the power of the sun for the most natural glow of a sunkissed tan. Without any additional weight or coverage, the ultralight matte powder blends seamlessly into skin, enhancing your skin’s luminosity with an ultrasoft, matte finish.” via YSLBeauty.com
Though the bronzer is officially described as silky-matte by YSL, there is a very slightly noticeable fine shimmer. Once applied, it is not too noticeable.and provides a very soft luminosity on the skin. The bronzer pulls a very warm golden color on my medium golden skin tone, which works well for me, though I do not think that this bronzer will work for everyone. It may pull too orange or warm for those of you in the in between range, which I suspect is one of the downsides of the collection. It has a limited color range so the bronzers can either be a hit or miss. The bronzer has a soft texture that picked up fairly well with my angled contour brush and applied beautifully on the areas of my face where I wanted to create depth and warmth-the temple of my face, my cheeks and lower jawlines.
I also took the liberty to take an image of all three bronzers while visiting the YSL counter for your reference. Swatches to follow below on my medium golden skin tone.
L-R: Sunstone (Light), Fire Opal, (Medium), and Jasper (Dark)
Bottom line, the YSL Bronzing Stones bronzer in Fire Opal is a stunning one-of-a-kind collector’s piece. I was pleased with the performance and pay off of the bronzer. It lasted for a good six hours and helped me to achieve sun-kissed skin, although I do not think the bronzer is a must have. I have other items in my stash that can also achieve the desired bronzy, glowy, sun kissed look that I have been going for lately. With that said, this is an absolutely gorgeous piece that can make its way to any makeup junkie’s heart.
The YSL Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones Bronzers are priced at $55 USD and can be found at major beauty retailers such as Nordstroms.
Thank you for stopping by today. What do you think? Yay or Nay?
