Today I wanted to share with you a new and limited edition set that is exclusive only to ULTA. It’s the NARSissist Velvet Lip Glide Set that comes with 6! new shades. I have previously reviewed the Velvet Lip Glides on my blog before, you can find it here. and I am happy to report that the formula is just as pigmented and wonderfully consistent as the original set I tried.
The velvet lip glides are officially described as a hybrid lip formula that is designed to glide like a gloss with the coverage of a lipstick. It’s also infused with Water Lily Flowers and White Tea Extract to provide antioxidant protection while an Oil Infusion Complex delivers saturated pigment with extraordinary comfort. Each mini lip glide comes with a short doe foot applicator and is packaged in a clear, see through tube.
Shades Swatched from Top to Bottom:
- Californication (pink mauve)
- Night Together (rose pink)
- Rapture (pink coral)
- Immoral (fuchsia pink)
- Staying Alive (orchid pink)
- Burning Love (cherry red)
In terms of formula and texture, they are highly pigmented and feel like a hybrid between a lipgloss and a cream lipstick. They glide on like velvet as its namesake implies. One swipe, and I get fully opaque coverage without having to layer. It feels very comfortable on the lips and settles to a very soft velvety semi-matte finish though initially it may appear to be very glossy and wet. I am so impressed with the color range and Californication, a pinky mauve is my favorite. I wonder it Nars will make these shades part of their permanent collection? I think these are a great way for you to discover the Nars Velvet Lip Glide formula if you haven’t done so. It would also make a great gift!
The Narsissist Velvet Lip Glide set retails for $49 and can be found exclusively at Ulta, here.
