Marc Jacobs Beauty recently released six new Eye-Conic Multi Finish Eye Palettes. The palettes come in a reformulated version with all new shades in four different finishes. I have a few of the original palettes from their collection and the shadows in this new version are truly next level! I recently reviewed the Scandalust palette here and today I am excited to share swatches of all six Eye-Conic Multi Finish Eye Palettes.
Each Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eye Palette was inspired by the runway and includes four different fashion finishes: buttery matte velvet, shimmering satin, sparkling silk, and metallic lame. Fun fact– Each of the shade names form a “fashion statement” that captures its unique personality when read from left to right. The six palettes available in this collection are:
- Provocouture : Dusty Plum & Magenta
- Frivoluxe : Chilled Greige & Violet
- Glambition : Bare & Bronze
- Scandalust : Rust & warmed browns with scarlet
- Edgitorial : camouflage and reflective gold
- Sartorial : celestial cobalt and icy teal with prismatic gray
I find that there exists a good mix of both matte and shimmery shades in each palette. You have a lighter shade in each palette for the brow bone and/or inner corner, some beautiful matte transition shades, plus some gorgeous shimmery finishes that are very unique and quite different from other eyeshadow palettes I have in my collection. I find that the color combinations are complimentary and can help you achieve looks from basic to not so basic. I like that each palette includes a metallic lame shade, perfect to dress your eyes in the evening and create a more smoldering effect.
The pigmentation is truly amazing and I found it to be consistent across the board whether swatched with my finger or the brush. Each shadow feels smooth to the touch. You will find that a little goes a long way and you need but the tiniest bit on the brush to achieve color payoff. The shadows lasted all day and I got about 7 hours of wear before slight fading without primer. Using the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer takes it to a whole ‘nother level! Like a good primer, it preps my eyes before application, helps to intensify each shade, and ensures its ultimate longevity. It’s formulated with coconut extracts to help lock in color for 12 hours and lives up to its claims. My shadows stayed put until it was time for bed!
In addition to the release of the primer, Marc Jacobs also released three eyeshadow brushes to add to their luxe line of face brushes. The Crease brush is perfect for contouring and blending the eyeshadow. The bristles are soft and fluffy and so easy to maneuver. The Smudge brush helps to line my eyes and create a more smoldering effect. The tip is also small enough to highlight the inner corner. Finally, the Shadow brush makes it easy to lay down and evenly distribute color a wash of color over the lids.
I am truly impressed with the new Marc Jacobs Eye Conic Multi Finish Eyeshadow Palettes. The packaging, performance and color payoff are exceptional. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Scandalust. I adore the warm rusty tones. Coming in second is Provocouture. I truly think that there is something for everyone to love. There exists a cohesive set of colors that are equally as gorgeous in the pan as they are on the eyes.
The Marc Jacobs Eye Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palettes retail for $49 each and are available at Sephora.com & Marcjacobsbeauty.com.
