One thing most women yearn to achieve is flawless skin. We all want base products that will help to cover imperfections, smooth out our canvas and provide lasting coverage that stays put throughout the day. Enter in the Prep, Perfect, and Set trio with Becca Cosmetics*, which promises to deliver a flawless finish. These products have been on heavy rotation for the past month now and today I’ll be sharing details, images and swatches. Kindly scroll below for a read.
STEP one involves primer. I rarely miss this step before applying my foundation. The Becca Velvet Blurring Primer is a liquid-to-powder blurring primer that instantly vanishes the appearance of pores, fine lines and imperfections. It has a very light weight formula that immensely smooths out the surface of my skin before the application of foundation. Not only does it enable my makeup to go on smoothly and evenly, it also helps to keep it looking fresh throughout the day. I am a fan of their Backlight Priming Filter and I typically alternate between the two, depending on whether I want to achieve a more glowy finish or a matte one.
STEP 2 is the Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme. It’s a full-coverage, 24-hour wear, water-resistant foundation that is enriched with intense pigments and water to provide full coverage that looks natural. It’s incredibly lightweight and blends into my skin instantaneously with each stroke of my brush. I prefer to start at the center of my face and blend outwards. One layer is all I need to even out my skin tone, though I can build up the opacity if desired with the end result still looking extremely natural. I am in the shade Olive which is a medium beige with golden undertones. It goes well with my medium golden skintone. Swatches to follow below. Lasting power is excellent. With the heat experienced in Southern California this past month, I am happy to report there was no “makeup meltdowns”, which is a huge thumbs up for me.
Shades:
Olive: medium beige, yellow/golden undertones
Bamboo: dark tan beige, yellow/golden undertones
Cafe: Light tan beige, neutral to warm undertones
Amber: deep tan, warm, red undertones
Maple (previously Tobacco): dark golden, neutral to warm undertones
The last step involves the Becca Soft Light Powder in Pink Haze, a pink hued loose powder that helps to set and brighten the complexion. The powder feels very finely milled and provides a soft veil over my face. It is the final step to set and seal the foundation and eliminate any shine, though it does not mattify the skin completely. Rather, it leaves a subtle luminosity that I adore and the pink hue provides a bright radiance that is very flattering. Coupled with the One Perfecting Brush, I can set my makeup within seconds. The horizontal design allows me to cover larger surfaces quickly and I am pleased with the end result through and through.
Bottom line, I am thoroughly impressed with this medley of base products from Becca Cosmetics. The trio provides full, flawless, lightweight coverage that never looks cakey. I am continually pleased every time it’s on. All products can be found at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, and Beccacosmetics.com.
