It’s now the time of the year where all of the holiday collections are making an appearance online and in stores. Nars is one brand that I’m always excited about because I find that their limited edition holiday releases are so unique and at a great price point. I adore the holiday sets they have released over the years, reviewed here and here. Today I’ll be sharing two items I picked up recently, the NARS Man Ray Veil Cheek Palette & The Nars Audacious Anita lipstick Holiday Kiss collection.
The Nars Man Ray Veil Cheek Palette is comprised of the iconic shade Laguna as well as two limited edition shades of Blush and Highligher. Priced at $49, the palette contains buildable hues that contour, highlight, and add a flush of color.
Palette shades:
– Bronzer in Laguna (diffused brown powder with golden shimmer) (0.14 oz.)
– Limited-edition Blush in Lovesick (satin watermelon) (0.12 oz.)
– Limited-edition Highlighter in Surreal (glistening bronze rose) (0.12 oz.)
After swatching the palette in store at Nordstrom , and trying it on at the counter, it was clearly a winner for me. I think the star of the trio is the highlighter in Surreal. It’s creamy, buttery, pigmented and smooth. It provides such a beautiful lustrous glow that can be built towards your desired intensity. Laguna is a well loved shade that I enjoy using, while the blush in Lovesick is what I would describe as a mid tone coral shade that goes well with my medium golden complexion. It’s sleek and handy for travel and comes complete with limited edition holiday packaging that I have come to love.
The Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade Anita from their Holiday Kiss Collection, $34 is a gorgeous nude rose shade that I think would suit most if not all complexions beautifully. It’s one of those MLBB shades that is so flattering on. I originally purchased the lipstick a couple of years ago and I find that the formula is delivers opaque coverage that goes on smoothly while providing long-lasting wear that never feels drying.
I adore that it is dressed up in limited edition gold packaging. It’s definitely a collector’s item, much like the NARS Rita Audacious lipstick dressed up in festive red packaging last year. The color saturation is phenomenal on the lips. I think this would make a great gift for any beauty lover and can be found at Sephora.
