Nordstrom Exclusive YSL Tatouage Couture Lip Trio Review & Swatches: Rosewood Gang, Nu Inderdit, Black Red Code

Now available is the Nordstrom exclusive YSL Tatouage Lip trio, $80. This is YSL’s take on a liquid lipstick formula and consists of three ready to wear fall shades from their YSL Tatouage lineup which currently includes 18 shades. I am a huge fan of the YSL range of lip products. From their glossy stains, to their Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks to the Lip Vinyls, I have been consistently impressed with the formula of their nourishing lip products.  I have a feeling that this set is going to sell out fast, so I wanted to get this post out as soon as possible.  I purchased the set a few weeks ago in store. Today I’ll be sharing more images, details and swatches.

The design for this years YSL’s limited edition line up is called Dazzling lights and while the packaging on the outside of the box has an image of fireworks, the lip trio does itself does not have any special embossing. The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Dazzling Lights Edition lipsticks, however, do. I picked up the shade Rouge Red and you can see my review and swatches here.

What it does: This lip stain offers a high-impact, ultra-matte color with a lightweight, naked feel. Think ink. Tatouage Couture gives your lips matte, tattoo-like color that is lightweight and nondrying, making the formula ultra-comfortable to wear. Its high-pigment color dries instantly, stays fresh and moves with your lips for eight hours of wear. Its exclusive liner-like applicator allows you to precisely outline your lips as well as fill them in with color for perfect definition every time. It never feathers or spills over the lip line.

Shades include:

– 5 Rosewood Gang-(deep mauve pink)

– 7 Nu Interdit-(medium nude)

– 8 Black Red Code-(deep burgundy)

How to use: Use the high point of the applicator tip to line your lips with a thin layer of Tatouage Couture, just like you would a pencil. Then, turn it on its side to brush the ultra-thin matte formula onto your lips.

I find that it’s a thin formula that provides a soft matte finish. The staying power is good. It will last through snacks and a meal with minimal fading and feels comfortable on. I am impressed with the formula and  I am adding this to the list of YSL lip products that I love for my lips. In terms of pricing, it is priced at $80. Each liquid lipstick retails for $36 dollars individually, so you are getting a savings of $28 when purchasing the trio. I like that it includes three shades that I are wearable and Fall ready, although I honestly think this set might not be for everybody depending on your color preferences. If you enjoy these tones, however, this is something worth considering. I think that it would also make a great gift for the beauty lover.
