MAC Cosmetics is on fire with their launches. The latest, NOW available for early access for MAC Select and Pro Members is their new Hyper Real Glow Face Palettes.* Two options are available: Get It Glowing and Flash and Awe and they will retail for $39.50 each. Today I’m excited to share with you my review and swatches.
Packaging
The palettes come in a trio of three complementary shades in cardboard packaging. It is thin, yet sturdy and compact enough for your makeup bag. It also conveniently houses a mirror. A plastic insert allows you to reference the shade names.
Formula
The formula is smooth, buttery, and incredibly pigmented. It allows you to achieve an intense or “hyper” glow as its namesake suggests. (Think highlight on fleek) However, I can still achieve a more subtle glow when desired. It all comes down to application. I love that the trio allows me to mix and match to create my own custom glow. Lightly using a fan brush gives me a more subtle glow, while using my Sigma F35 brush produces a more intense effect. The formula is effortlessly blendable. It helps to impart equal parts glow + radiance to my skin and I l o v e it. Because of the exceptional formula, they would work beautifully as eye shadows as well. You can use it to highlight your brow bone or the inner corner of the eye to further spotlight the eyes.

Bottom Line
Of the two, the Get it Glowing Palette is my favorite. It suits my medium golden NW35 tone beautifully. It contains an array of golden bronze shades that I think is more ideal for medium to deep skin tones in my opinion. The Flash + Awe Palette contains more shimmery pinks, and though they are still easy to work with, I know I will find myself reaching for the Get it Glowing Palette more often. The formula is creamy, buildable, and wonderfully pigmented. You don’t have to worry about fall out or any chalkiness with these. MAC created two palettes that are versatile enough to suit a range of skin tones. Bottom line, there is truly a lot to love with the formula of these palettes and they are worth checking out.
The MAC Hyper Real Glow Palettes will be launching February 15th. Early access is now available online for MAC Select and PRO members. I suspect that they will also be available at Nordstrom and ULTA since they are going to be part of their permanent line up. Up next will be an overview and swatches of the MAC x Jeremy Scott Collection which is now available at most retailers.
Is this on your radar?
xx,
Dom
