Urban Decay has been busy this summer cooking up new products for us! I have been using their new Born to Run Palette nonstop, reviewed here, and now I have another obsession to share with you: The Urban Decay Lo Fi Lip Mousse. I’ve tried many lip products ranging from lip gloss, lipstick, liquid lipstick and the list goes on. I will tell you that this remarkable product is unlike anything I’ve ever tried.
So what exactly is it? The Lo Fi Lip Mousse is described as a weightless, buildable, waterproof lip color with a velvety-soft matte finish. The texture feels mousse-y as its namesake implies and when worn, the color payoff is quite remarkable. I have been wearing Frequency non stop and come Fall, I know Boom will be my jam. If you have dry lips, I would suggest that you prep them by using a lip scrub or using a lip balm prior to application. The formula is not drying, but it is also not hydrating either. With the lip mousse, you can create a soft and subtle “bitten lip” look or you can layer it for more intensity and go bold. They are amazingly pigmented and have great staying power. Even after eating, there’s a slight fade that still looks completely natural.
The lip mousse appears to be the size of an eyeshadow single at first glance. Once opened, it reveals a mirrored compact that comes complete with a pop -out lip applicator. These are so compact and convenient for travel. So much so that I packed all 8 shades with me on my latest trip last week. I prefer to use the lip applicator for a more defined and precise lip application but I’ve also applied them by using my fingers and gently dabbing the color onto my lips.

The shade range comes complete with neutrals to brights and bolds. There is a shade for everybody whether you like to go soft and subtle or prefer a bold lip. These are unlike anything I’ve ever tried. I really like how incredibly compact and functional they are and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like these, especially since I’m such a fan of traditional lipsticks.
The Urban Decay Lo Fi Lip Mousse retails for $22 and can be found at Sephora, Ulta Beauty and Macy’s as well as the Urban Decay website. These will be on heavy rotation for me.
Which one is on your list?
xx,
Dom
