NARS recently launched their new Climax Mascara. It is described as a volume building mascara with an innovative new formula. It initially launched at Ulta and is now available at Sephora. I have been putting the mascara to test for the past two weeks and today I’ll be sharing all the details with you.
Let’s first discuss the packaging. The exterior red tube feels and looks so luxe! The red packaging is definitely a departure from NARS’ iconic black and white packaging, but I love it. It’s something that I find myself wanting to display on my vanity. The formula is described as having a Lash Moisture Complex which allows for a whipped, creamy formula that builds without clumping or smudging. 
The brush is where the magic happens. The full-bodied brush has ribbed bristles that help to capture and coat each lash. It simultaneously separates, lengthens, and volumizes. I find that the formula is lightweight and the staying power is amazing. My lashes don’t feel stiff when applying a second coat. My lashes are very short to begin with. I experimented with getting lash extensions last year which I have to come to regret to this day. Some of my lashes that fell out are still growing and mascara has become one beauty product, along with concealer, that I use on the daily. I am also a contact lens wearer, and my eyes are a bit sensitive. I yearn for a mascara that will give my pathetic lashes some life without causing irritation and this one fits the bill. It immediately helps to lift and lengthen my lashes with one coat. There is no flaking, no smudging or clumping.
Verdict: I am very impressed with this latest launch from NARS. When it comes to mascara, there are three things I typically look for: one in the carbon black variety, one that helps to lengthen and volumize, and one that doesn’t cause irritation. It immediately lifts, lengthens and enhances my lashes. This mascara passed everything with flying colors and is definitely worth looking into!
