Giorgio Armani Beauty’s latest offering is their Power Fabric Compact Foundation and Power Fabric Stretchable Concealer. I am a huge fan of the Power Fabric Foundation, previously reviewed here and as soon as these became available, I promptly picked them up at my local Nordstrom.
The Power Fabric Compact Foundation comes in a mirrored, round and sleek black case which is embossed with the red Giorgio Armani logo. Once opened, a triangular shape applicator is included. The foundation itself is at the base of the compact, in contrast to their compact powders, which are visible upon opening. It’s described as suitable for all skin types and for anyone who wants full to medium coverage with a satin finish. It’s described as an on-the-go compact foundation that helps you achieve a long-lasting velvet finish.
Details, via Nordstrom:
“It provides a second-skin feel with high coverage and long wear, too. The innovative formula transforms from a balm to a cream powder, providing the perfect matte velvet finish to your look. Upon application, the texture melts into your skin, effectively blurring imperfections with a waterproof, lightweight veil. The key to this sensorial formulation is the the mineral perlite, which combines soft, spherical powders to maintain a flawless complexion throughout the day.”
First, I have to say I love the utilitarian design of this compact foundation. It’s so perfect on-the-go. I’ve been taking it with me to work all week. For reference, I purchased the shade 5.5 which I would describe as a medium beige. The sponge applicator is so easy to use. The balm feels creamy to the touch and transforms to a silky powder. I gently dab my face with the balm and it blends easily using the applicator. The applicator has a triangular shaped tip, so it is easy to blend the foundation along the contours of my face, along my nose, and even under my eye area. It immediately blurs my imperfections and evens my skin tone, creating a second skin finish that looks so natural, healthy, and effortlessly flawless. It feels so lightweight, though it provides a satin, matte, full- coverage finish. The lasting power is excellent. From my work shift which begins at 7:30 am to day’s end, my makeup still looks fresh with no touch ups required mid day. I am truly impressed.
The Power Fabric Stretchable concealer is described as a long wear high-coverage liquid concealer that delivers a matte velvet finish with a multi-use applicator. It provides medium to full coverage and the pointy tip of the applicator can be used for targeted retouching, while the flat surface can be used for larger zone concealing, covering, or highlighting.
Details via Nordstrom: “This thin, stretchable formula provides a second-skin feel and hides every type of imperfection, from dark circles to redness and blemishes. It blends easily and remains comfortable and fresh on the skin throughout the day. Use it alone for a lighter makeup finish or in combination with its foundation counterpart for a perfect flawless look. Additionally, the multiuse applicator allows for different application techniques, from blending over large areas of the face to targeted coverage of specific imperfections.”
It has a formula that I would describe as lightweight. It’s not too thick, nor thin and the formula blends easily. It works well in combination with the Power Fabric foundation and compact. I purchased the shade 5 because I tend to like my concealer a bit lighter for highlighting. I tend to get redness around my nose and use it to spot coverage. I found that it blended beautifully around the under eyes, there was no creasing and it did not feel drying which is a major plus. The applicator is also easy to use. I like that it has both a pointed tip and a flat surface which makes applying a breeze. Swatches below.
Bottom line, I am really enjoying these latest complexion additions to the Armani Power Fabric family. I am left with skin that looks and feels silky smooth and effortlessly flawless. Both products immediately blur my imperfections, and helps to minimize any discoloration and redness. In short, it’s love.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have you tried anything from their Power Fabric line?
