For as long as I can remember, I have always used some sort of base before applying foundation. In my teenage years, I only wore powder foundation, the kind that came in a compact, so prepping my skin with moisturizer was something that seemed to suffice at the time. Once I was introduced to primer in my early twenties, it quickly became an essential product in my makeup routine. In addition to now using targeted serums and moisturizers to prep my skin for the day, primer is the next step that follows. Just as primer ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, makeup primer acts as a base to ‘smooth out my canvas’ before ‘painting my face’. Not only does primer help to smooth out pores before the application of makeup, it also helps to prolong makeup wear. Imagine my delight a couple of weeks ago when a generous collection of the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primers were kindly sent over for review.
Today I wanted to share a few beauty discoveries I recently I had the opportunity to test out. These items are from the beauty categories of: fragrance, skincare, makeup and beauty tools and today I’m here to share with you my experience with each product as well as my recommendations. There were some products that I absolutely fell in love with! Kindly scroll below for details.
Giorgio Armani Beauty has extended their range of Armani Prima products to include two new additions that I will be sharing with you today–the Armani Prima Smart Moisture Serum* and the Nourishing Glow Enhancer Oil-in-Gel*. Happy Skincare Sunday! I recently received the most amazing package from Algenist Beauty, a skincare brand that offers a comprehensive range of anti-aging treatments which have been formulated with their star patented ingredient: Alguronic Acid and/or Microalgae Oil.
Today’s blog post will spotlight a new collection from Algenist called the Splash collection*, a skincare range focused on helping to pump hydration and skin -energizing electrolytes into skin, helping to lock in moisture. Think “sports drink for your skin.”
Todays’ blog post will feature products that I have been incorporating into my skincare routine for over a month now from Erborian, a Korean-French hybrid skincare brand that blends traditional Korean ingredients with modern French luxury. The line is founded on the principles of Korean herbology, fusing potent ingredients such as ginseng, bamboo, and matcha green tea with high tech cosmetic engineering–hence the company’s ethos, “tradition meets innovation.”
Alas, the end of June has arrived. I know this sounds so cliche, but this month really flew by quickly, maybe a little too quickly. The arrival of summer to me means bronzed skin and a luminous, glowing complexion and my beauty favorites this month certainly reflects that. Here’s a round up of the products I really loved this month.
The foundation of beautiful skin starts with skincare. When my skin feels and looks healthy, I find that the application of my makeup goes on a lot more smoothly. When my skin is at its very best, my makeup looks at its very best, so establishing a good skincare routine is very important. Today I’m excited to share my experience with the Foreo Luna 2* and Foreo Luna Play, two new skincare cleansing devices I’ve been using for almost a month now.
The day before a trip, I almost always find myself facing the same dilemma while packing. What should I bring? What are the necessities? What should I leave behind? I always tend to err on the side of caution. Consequently, I always pack more than I need.
As much as I love makeup, skincare is just as important to me. It is the canvas in which you apply your makeup on and it is often times an indicator of your overall age, health and lifestyle. I have recently had a chance to try out some products from the Tula Skincare line. Their products contain probiotic technology, which is a new beauty breakthrough shown to hydrate your skin, even out your skin tone and texture, reduce wrinkles and inflammation just to name a few things.
Skincare has always been important to me. Being the beauty obsessive I am, I am always yearning to try new things. I am always intrigued and curious about the science behind beauty products and the potential benefits my skin can reap from using them. I particularly love treating my skin once or twice a week to a mask. This is what I would consider dedicated “me time” at the end of the night, ensuring that my skin can optimally look its best in the morning. Recently, I have been using the Dr. Brandt’s Oxygen Facial Recovery Mask once a week for the past month and today I will be reporting my thoughts and overall review.
Recently, I switched up my night time skincare regimen to include the method of double cleansing, using products from Kaplan MD’s Double Cleansing Kit. What is Double cleansing? It is two step process and a way to thoroughly cleanse the skin. By purifying the surface of the skin, it allows you to unclog pores and get rid of any residue left behind. When skin is properly cleansed and detoxified, it leaves a layer of fresh, young skin cells that is ready to absorb the nutrients from moisturizers and serums that follow. I have been putting the items to the test for the past few weeks now and I have some thoughts and first impressions to share with you today.
An innovative, anti-aging range of products that I have used in my skincare rotation since it first launched in 2011 is Algenist. I’ve been a fan of their Anti-aging eye cream and I was lucky to receive The Best of Algenist Collection recently. This collection offers a comprehensive ritual of anti-aging treatments which have been formulated with their star patented ingredient: Alguronic Acid and/or Microalgae Oil. I have been putting the items to the test for the past two weeks now and I have some first thoughts and impressions to share with you today.
