Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation & Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer Review

The highly anticipated Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate launched on July 21st. I eagerly waited for it to launch as I have been a fan of their  Marvelous Mousse Oil free Foundation for quite some time. I was interested in seeing how this new foundation concentrate, which boasts 42% pigment, would compare. I picked up the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer and the Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation in the color Golden Medium, which is described as medium deep with yellow undertones. For reference, I am in the shade NW 35 in MAC, and No. 40 in the  Chanel Les Beiges foundation. So far, I am thoroughly impressed. Not only is it extraordinarily pigmented, it also provides amazing coverage that feels weightless and flawless on my skin. The foundation is marketed as “Full coverage in a dot”  and its ability to deliver on this promise is nothing short of amazing. Only the tiniest amount of product is needed. I underestimated how much product I needed during my first trial run. The coverage of the formula is superb. It goes on very easily and I would describe the finish as demi-matte. I say this because it gives a very lightweight and natural, soft focused finish in comparison to the Marvelous Mousse foundation that I also currently use. The Marvelous Mousse foundation seems to provide fuller and more opaque coverage. Nonetheless, both formulas easily blur my imperfections and provide a beautiful finish.  In terms of its performance and longevity, it wore comfortably on my skin for 8 hours without the need for mid day touch ups. I did not experience any problems with separation; it stayed put in the midst of Southern California humidity.

Here is a description of the product via Sephora’s website:

What it is:
An ultra-lightweight, oil-free foundation concentrate that delivers 24 hours of full-coverage wear.

What it does:
Finally: foundation coverage that lasts all day long. Get 24-hour wear and flawless coverage in an instant with this ultra-lightweight foundation concentrate. Featuring a revolutionary oil-free formula that contains twice as much pigment as a leading full-coverage foundation, it’s infused with innovative ingredients that completely cover with spot-on perfection. It’s enriched with Marc Jacobs’ patented golden pigments that are wrapped in lecithin—an ingredient that’s biochemically similar to skin—for immediate, effortless blending and a smooth, soft matte finish. This foundation has a one-of-a-kind dot applicator that allows for custom coverage. Just shake, dot, and blend for perfectly-matte coverage.

I easily applied the foundation using my Marc Jacobs beauty Sculpting Brush I (pictured above) as well as with a Beauty Blender. Per the instructions provided, it is best to first shake the Re(marc)able foundation before applying it.  The dot applicator should be used to apply 3-4 dots on the face before adding more. I have found that the easiest way to apply the foundation is to start with a dot, and to buff and blend it seamlessly before adding more.

The Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer works well in tandem with the Re(marc)able Foundation Concentrate. It is described as a nutrient rich formula infused with five types of coconut to extend the wear and longevity of makeup. The primer feels very light and hydrating upon contact. It has a very subtle scent that is not the least off-putting. I find it to feel very refreshing and somewhat therapeutic, as I love the smell of coconut. After moisturizing, I work one pump of the primer onto my face. It helps to smooth out the surface of my skin and shortly thereafter, I buff the foundation onto my skin.  My foundation goes on smoothly and lasts for hours!

Here is a description of the primer via Sephora’s website:

What it is:
A skin-smoothing, makeup extending primer infused with five types of coconut.

What it does:
Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer brings the refreshing feel of coconut to your face while it perfects and extends makeup wear. With its nutrient-rich formula, it leaves a smooth and improved skin surface. It’s enriched with concentrated coconut extracts which form a natural, vitamin-rich barrier between your skin and makeup. The coconut water-derived polysaccharide complex mirrors the effect of synthetic priming ingredients, allowing your skin to breathe without compromising the skin-perfecting benefits. The result is makeup that stays on longer and skin that appears younger-looking and better than ever.

My thoughts: I am impressed with both the primer and the foundation concentrate. The primer helps to provide a healthy dose of hydration and lasting power, while the foundation concentrate helps me to achieve a beautifully flawless, weightless finish. The packaging is chic and aesthetically pleasing on my vanity.  This is yet another re(marc)able win for makeup aficionados like myself. I am happy to be adding these items to my foundation rotation and can honestly say that I am completely #enamoredwith it!
