4th of July Beauty Picks

Hello! Happy 4th of July! This is quite possibly the most celebrated holiday of the summer. The best part of the 4th of July? Red, white and blue outfits, accessories, and of course beauty products! In honor of the fourth of July, today’s post will feature my beauty picks in the white, red and blue variety complete with a look I created this past weekend.

MAKEUP

Marc Jacobs Beauty Glowstick Glistening Illuminator. ($42)

This has been heavy on my rotation. It provides the most beautiful dewy glow in all the right places. This portable twist up cream highlighter is perfect for travel. I have taken this with me to Cabo and most recently, Nevada.  Its compact design, in addition to its easy to use features make it very convenient to carry with me nearly everywhere. My full review here.

Elf Cosmetics Day to Night Lipstick Duo in Red Hot Reds* ($6)

One of my favorite drugstore brands is ELF Cosmetics. This lipstick duo conveniently has two shades that can take you from day to night–a softer shade of red for the day and a bolder red for night time. I like to wear the deeper red on the outside of my lips and and the lighter red towards the center. I often do this with many of my lip products, layering different colors to achieve the perfect, customized color. This duo is quite pigmented, glides on beautifully, and feels comfortable on my lips. I can reapply as often as I desire. At $6 each, you will not break the bank. If you’re interested in reading about a few of my favorite ELF products I’ve previously reviewed, you can find it here.

Marc Jacobs Beauty So Rouge Le Marc Lip Creme ($30)

I picked up this VIB Rouge Exclusive shade online at Sephora and it continues to be one of my favorite lipstick formulas– creamy, opaque, with exceptional color payoff. I just love the luxe red packaging, and could not help but include this in my round up in honor of my 4th of July picks. If you’re looking for more swatches of the Le Marc Lip Creme lipsticks, you can find it here.

YSL Beauty Vinyl Couture Mascara in I’m the Trouble ($29)

Colored mascaras are such a fun way to bring out the eyes and add a pop of color to the lash line, especially for the Spring and Summer months. I picked up the YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara in I’m the Trouble, a deep blue shade about a month ago. Along with the gorgeous, luxurious packaging, it has a formula that goes on smoothly, separates beautifully, and provides definition to my lashes without clumping.

HAIR

 OGX Gravity-Defying & Hydration + O2 Weightless Oil & Lifting Tonic* ($7.99)

I am a fan of their Moroccan Sea Salt Spray, reviewed here, and I wanted to give this new collection a try. It’s infused with Oxygen Liposomes, which claims to deliver oxygen to hair strands, helping to create movement and fullness without weighing hair down. I found this to work nicely when applied to both my damp and dry hair. It’s a lightweight treatment that leaves my hair feeling silky and smooth and it smells great!

FRAGRANCE

Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent St.* ($95)

Last but not least, this new fragrance addition by Derek Lam smells amazing. It has notes of white musk, and has a scent that lingers nicely through out the day–very light, summery, quite soft and most importantly, boyfriend approved. There are a total of 10 fragrance options available, ranging from fresh to floral to deep oriental notes. I love the minimalistic and modern sophisticated packaging and look forward to using it this summer.

This look was created with some of the products referenced above. On my cheeks is the Marc Jacobs Glowstick. On my lips is a mixture of  Elf Cosmetics' Red Hot Duo.
