This summer was rife with many new makeup launches that made its way to my makeup routine. While many affordable beauty products often do a great job, I do come across products that pique my interest enough for me to splurge on that I think will be worthwhile. Today we’re honing in on 10 luxurious beauty products that are actually worth the hype (and price tag).
Truth be told, I have not purchased a Chanel eyeshadow palette in a couple of years. Nothing seemed to really interest me and there was always some other eyeshadow launch that seemed more worthwhile. Why purchase a four pan palette when you can get 12 shades in another I justified. That notion changed when I laid my eyes on this 9 pan palette. It contains earthy neutrals that could take me from day to night. I was really impressed by the smooth pigmented formula, and the shadows that layered very well. I recently took this palette with me on my summer trip and it was perfect. It was compact and so effortless to create an easy, defined eye.
2. Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint-Medium Plus
Another addition to my stash is this super lightweight tint. It’s a non sticky clear gel with micro-pigments that burst to provide color. Included with purchase is this nifty brush which makes application a breeze. Now be forwarned, The coverage is very minimal, like bare skin with a slight tint. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea for that reason, but I think it provides a very luminous, dewy, my- skin -but- better effect on the skin. It’s the perfect summer base for a no makeup look.
Recently Charlotte Tilbury launched 11 shades inspired by female icons and I picked up four of them: Glowing Jen, Dancefloor Princess, Jk Magic, and Amazing Amal. These are exceptionally gorgeous and super flattering. They are not only moisturizing and hydrating, they also have remarkable staying power. They are also refillable and I am planning on picking up Angel Alessandra next.
This stunning all- in-one face palette features four light-diffusing shades including a bronzer, blush, and highlighter to provide the skin with beautiful luminosity. The lustrous pearl pigments give your skin a lit-from-within glow. The formula is so smooth and pigmented. It’s such a dreamy palette and worth every penny in my opinion. I’ve been using it nonstop! Swatches below.
I purchased the shade 6.5 (Sable) after getting a sample of it from the counter. After testing it for three days, I decided it was worth the splurge. It is described as a lightweight gel-serum foundation with sheer-to-medium coverage and a satin finish. I was also really intrigued by the formula. According to the Nordstrom site, it features a unique moisture complex of red fruit extracts including watermelon, lychee seed and apple to help increase water held by the skin’s cells. If you’re looking for something that is lightweight and provides more coverage than the Chanel Fresh Water tint, then this is worth looking into. It gives the skin a healthy-looking, fresh looking glow and it’s yet another wonderful summer base.
I picked up the shade Truth on a whim after swatching it in store on my lips. It’s a gorgeous beige rose that envelops my lips in a high shine finish that is both moisturizing and nourishing thanks to avocado oil and shea butter, two ingredients that are part of this lip gloss formula.
This intensely-pigmented eyeliner provides a bold, black line in just one stroke. It has a smudge-resistant texture that dries down quickly. Coupled with the pointed felt tip, it allows a precise line and is also waterproof! I adore the red packaging.
This latest release from Givenchy features a micro-bristle silicone brush that separates and lifts lashes. It has a buildable, clump-free formula with intense-black pigments that allows you to create looks from natural to dramatic. The mascara applies easily, builds without flaking or clumping, and adds length and volume. It also held a curl really well too! It comes in the same edgy, red packaging as the Disturbia eyeliner. This duo is the perfect pairing for summer. They are both waterproof and long lasting!
This summer, Givenchy reinvented its Healthy Glow Powder and launched it in a new limited edition formula. The Healthy Glow powder bronzer is essentially a bronzer infused with a pearly highlighter. The two textures are interwoven to create a unique marbled pattern. This soft and silky powder leaves a healthy, glowy veil on the skin. I simply take my powder brush and sweep it all over. It simply enhances my complexion and provides a beautiful summery radiance.
This new lip ink is one of the most lightweight liquid lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried. It has a water based formula that has a really thin, watery texture when applied, however it will transform to a beautiful intensely pigmented shade that is transfer-proof and waterproof with serious lasting power. The shade featured from the swatch on the image above is 02 Arty Pink, a muted rose pink.
